Umbracle: One of Valencia's Best Spots!
One of my favourite places in Valencia is Umbracle, a huge steel arched walk way in the centre of the city of arts and sciences. One hundred and nine, eighteen metre high arches make up this incredible structure which stands proudly next to the Hemisfèric and the Museo de la Ciencias Príncipe Felipe. The arches, half of them fixed and half of them floating, create an area inside of 17,500m². This area is used mainly as a type of botanical garden with more than 100 palm trees and thousand of plants and flowers: some native to the Valencian region, some that typically grow in the Mediterranean and others which have more tropical origins. Here you will also find a space which is used for art exhibitions so there is plenty for you to see! For me Umbracle is a place that every traveller to Valencia should visit and there is always interesting events taking place to give you the perfect excuse!
