Umbracle: One of Valencia's Best Spots!
One of my favourite places in Valencia is Umbracle, a huge steel arched walk way in the centre of the city of arts and sciences. One hundred and nine, eighteen metre high arches make up this incredible structure which stands proudly next to the Hemisfèric and the Museo de la Ciencias Príncipe Felipe. The arches, half of them fixed and half of them floating, create an area inside of 17,500m². This area is used mainly as a type of botanical garden with more than 100 palm trees and thousand of plants and flowers: some native to the Valencian region, some that typically grow in the Mediterranean and others which have more tropical origins. Here you will also find a space which is used for art exhibitions so there is plenty for you to see!
For me Umbracle is a place that every traveller to Valencia should visit and there is always interesting events taking place to give you the perfect excuse! For example this Saturday (8/8) between 18.00 and 21:30 there is a market which is inspired by the famous Ibiza Hippy Market. There will be lots of beautiful original items which will make great, unique gifts or souvenirs of your travels for your friends and family (or yourself!). The event is free to enter so make the most of the opportunity to visit this amazing venue.

Another amazing feature of Umbracle is that at night it transforms into one of Valencias best nightclubs. There is two parts: the terraza where you can have a drink and a dance in the open air whilst enjoying your soundings; and the MYA club downstairs which has the feel of a more traditional nightclub. Guests at Feetup hostels get the opportunity to enter for free when taking part in the pub crawl organised by Tour Me Out.
