trip or on vacation, your body needs it! Well, if you come to Barcelona, you
don´t have worry about missing your daily dose of work out, because this
beautiful city – just as Valencia – offers you countless breathtaking routes to
escape a bit of your everyday.
Carretera de les aigues
Forget the noise of cars and
motorbikes, buses, sirens and horns. On the Carretera de les aigues you can
have your refreshing run, and not lastly with such an amazing view to the city
from above that makes you run 3 km more.
Carretera de les aigues is 9
km long dirt road starting from the hillside of Collserola and finishing at the
Fuente de la Mandra. The whole length of the road is very flat, so that you can
turn back at any point without having difficulties.
Del Hotel W al Parc
del Forum
Running next the sea – this is the dream! And in
Barcelona you can live it! From the Hotel W till the Park of Forum you have 10
km to enjoy the stunning view of the Balearic Sea in the whole year. This route is the favorite one of the locals
and the visitors as well, so if your are more motivated by seeing others run,
than this is the place for you! And don´t forget about the soft vapour of the
sea…
Diagonal - Parque Cervantes
The Avenue Diagonal is the best choice for if your
hostel is located in the city center. As one of the longest streets in
Barcelona, you can enjoy your workout through the whole 8 km length of Diagonal.
Even better that it has a passage in the middle of the road, especially made for
the cyclists, this way you can concentrate on your session without disturbing
each other. The only things that can stop you are the traffic lamps, but the
incredible running environment make up for it.
Montjuïc, the magic mountain
If we take Plaça d'Espanya as the starting point, we
have to run upwards in the direction of the National Museum of Modern Arts of
Barcelona, after passing by Pabellon Mies van der Rohe and the modernist
bulinding of CaixaForum and after all we can turn back and run back downwards
to the Plaça d'Espanya. This demanding trip takes about one hour, depending on your
rhythm. You also have to keep in mind, that this route is only heart melting
for runners, but for the tourists also.
Parc de la Ciutadella
The Park of Ciutadella is perfect choice if you want to have
only a short run in the city. Moreover this is the only place in the center
where you can run on dirt road in a beautiful park framed with the Zoo of
Barcelona and Parlament of Catalunya.
