arrived directly from the Musée d´Orsay, to show you the key role of colors in
the evolution of painting.
During
impressionism the colors meant to be the most important tools to express the
artists´ sensation, experiences and personal visions – a bite of their personality.
As they wrote in their diary, they went bit by bit abandoning the peculiarities
of naturalism and started to use more and more color. According to Isabelle Cahn,
the commissioner of the exhibition it starts with a piece of Van Gogh, from the
time when arriving to Paris he discovered the modern painting and by its
effect, started to paint with vivid colors. Among the last artworks of the exhibition
you will see the paintings of Renoir, Matisse, Monet and finally Picasso with
one of his most famous painting: Nude Woman in a Red Armchair.
