Mexico Comes to Barcelona
Do you want to discover another culture without the expensive plane tickets? This autumn Mexico is coming to Barcelona, bringing its vibrant exotic culture though film, photography, music, performing arts, visual arts, literature, conferences and gastronomy. The festival is based around four main themes Vida (life), Muerta (death), Lucha (fight) and Fiesta (party); key ideas that encompass this beautiful and historically rich country.

The festival called MXaBCN will take place this September, October and November and will include a host of cultural events. Some of the highlights include a photo exhibition by Lourdes Grobet entitled “Lucha Libre: Retrato de Familia; a series of sessions centred around Mexican literature; and a run of recent Mexican films which will be projected from the 1st November to mark the date of one of Mexico’s largest festivals “Dia de los Difuntos” or the Day of the Dead. Providing the opportunity to showcase new talent; these screenings will begin with one of a series of short films produced by students of the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos in Mexico.
All of the events are taking place within a three month period and so there will be something for you to go and see during your time in Barcelona. If you are lucky enough to be in the city on the 25th of October, you will be able to take part in a day full of activities surrounding Mexican culture.
