Discover a New Culture at the Día de Brazil Festival
This September Barcelona welcomes the 7th edition of the Día de Brazil festival. Swiftly becoming one of the most-awaited events of Barcelona’s event calendar; this festival which incorporates many aspects of the rich culture of Brazil will be moving location to the Parc del Forum for its latest issue. The event, which will take place on the 6th September, will include activities to entertain everyone, no matter your age or language.
The programme includes activities for children, workshops for adults and a line up of some of Brazil’s most-loved stars. This is the perfect occasion to try something new like Capoeira (a Brazilian Martial Art) or Batacuda (a variation of the hugely popular Brazilian samba music). If you want to remain an observer rather than taking part yourself, there will be a whole range of tasty Brazilian food to try to keep you going throughout the day.
The music is one aspect of the day that is unique to this festival, showcasing Brazilian artists and Brazilian styles of music which really enable you to experience the rich culture of this beautiful country. Artists such as Aleh and Emicada will transport you to Brazil with their original sounds, unlike anything you have heard before. The carnival atmosphere of Brazil is coming to Barcelona so make sure you are there to make the most of this event!
And if after the 6th you want more, there will be a Día de Brazil inspired film festival in the Girona Cinemas in Barcelona. It will take place between the 10th and 13th of September and will feature some of the most recent films to have been produced by the Brazilian film industry. Titles include: A História de Eternidade (Camilo Cavalcante); Amor, Plástico e Barulho (Renata Pinheiro); and Casa Grande (Felipe Barbosa). Full programme here.
And not only does the event bring you nearer to Brazil in a cultural sense but the event is sponsored by the Latam Airlines Group who have announced a new route connecting Brazil and Barcelona, making the two countries literally closer than ever. So take the opportunity to celebrate the joining of two nations whilst exploring a new culture! If you are looking for a place to stay in Barcelona, book now with Feetup Hostels.
