Celebrate the Birthday of Freddie Mercury in Barcelona with Hard Rock
Freddie for the Day: A Night at the Opera
Next Saturday, the 5th of September is the birthday of British rock legend Freddie Mercury. The much-loved star, who tragically died of AIDs in 1991, will be honored in a concert in Barcelona to mark the day. Organised by the Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona, the event will take place in the Teatro El Molino.
All profits made from the evening will go to the Mercury Phoenix trust which was set up by Queen following the loss of their band-mate. The trust, created with the goal of fighting AIDs and raising awareness, promotes the Freddie for a Day campaign which takes place every year on his birthday. This year to celebrate this, the trust has linked up with the Hard Rock Cafe to bring audiences around the world the incredible music and talent of Mercury.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to honor this legend and to remember the amazing music he made. There is nothing to lose, all the money goes to a great cause and the atmosphere will be incredible! Celebrate Freddie’s birthday along with other fans and keep his legacy going.

The evening will consist of a performance from Marcos Tajadura one of the best Freddie impersonators. Then the concert will begin, paying tribute to the legendary and iconic music of this hugely talented star and the rest of Queen. Audiences will be encouraged to wear a Freddie-esque moustache to keep the artists spirit alive on this special night. The concert is guaranteed to be a hit due to the famous brains behind its creation. Danny Gómez, who worked with the band on the Queen inspired musical We Will Rock You, will be directing the event with the full support of Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May.
