Come to Valencia this July to Experience the Summer Festival
Valencia’s July Summer Festival
Get ready this summer for the return of the Feria de Julio which takes place throughout the whole of July in Valencia. This festival is packed full of activities which will ensure that you will not be left with a moment to spare. This is a festival that has been celebrated since 1871 with its origins in the exposition and sales of natural handmade products and commodities which come from the earth. The July Festival, like most festivals from this region, is celebrated to the maximum and the effort put in by the organisers can be seen in every activity that is included in the programme; the Valencians do not do things by halves!
From concerts and fireworks to food and markets, this festival really does have it all. However, as well as all of this, arguably the most interesting thing about this celebration, and possibly the reason why so many people come to Valencia to take part, is the more traditional element that has been upheld. If you are lucky enough to be in Valencia this July you will see the Batalla de Flores (Flower Battle) as well as bull-fighting and the famous music band competition.
The festival lasts for the duration of July but one night which really stands out is the Gran Nit de Julio, which this year will be the 18th July. This night hosts a range of amazing events throughout the whole city. There will be music, dancing and lots of fun as you party away the night with locals and travellers alike.
The full programme can be found on the official website of the Ayuntamiento de Valencia but some of the highlights include:
From the 2nd of July until the 15th of July: XIX Jazz Festival in the Palau de la Música de Valencia.
