After a year full of marathons
and running events, Valencia won´t let you wait for the New Year laid back on
the couch! Pull your running shoes – and your costume! – up, because on December
30th the marathon of San Silvestre waits for you!
The marathon of San Silvestre
is back! For the 32nd edition Valencia turns into the dream of running lovers,
moreover, to be even more entertaining, the last running event of the year is not only for your running shoes, but for the funniest costumes of yours, too! What will you put on this year?
This amazing marathon has a
real tradition in Valencia, the first one was organized in 1983, and since then
Valencian people get together in every year on December 30, to say goodbye to
the old year and hello to the new one. Starting from Calle Xativa thousands of
Valencians run together, from the smallest to the biggest ones, all the way
through the 5,5 km long route.

Ayuntamiento (Town Hall Square) of Valencia.

The inscription for the last marathon
of the year costs 1 Euro per capita, which will be donated to the association
of Payasospital (´Clown Hospital´), an association of professional clowns that
makes children laugh even in hospitals throughout the community of Valencia
from 1999.
