Parc de la Ciutadella

One of the most beautiful and exquisite complex of Barcelona the "Parc de la Ciutadella", was built in honor of the famous "Exposition of 1888", which also houses the exhibition served as a military complex, until it was overthrown by opposing fronts between 1869 and 1888 . There are a hundred different ways to discover the Parc de la Ciutadella. You can explore the history of the former military citadel and the 1888 Universal Exhibition, or simply enjoy the surroundings and take part in one of its many cultural events. Relics of the exposition can still be seen today in the Parc de la Ciutadella, such as the Museu de Zoologia, which occupies the original restaurant designed for the exhibition by Domènech i Montaner, the waterfall and lake, designed by Fontseré, and the beautiful plant house, the Umbracle, and glass house, the Hivernacle. The "Museu de Geologia" is housed in a neoclassical building and Barcelona Zoo has stood on the other side of the park
